2 weeks...

...and it'll be Talk Like A Pirate Day, again.

Also, today is Junior Ricardipus #2's fifth birthday.

And, since I seem to be posting random thoughts, here's a picture of the handsome little budgie who's been flying around our neighbourhood recently. He seems very healthy, although a trifle puzzled as to how to get the seed out of the tube feeders we have up for the finches. His beak is just the wrong shape. There's plenty of other seed around though, so he should be ok, at least until winter comes.

Ha! #1 on Google for yet another trivial fact!

I felt sure you were going to tell me about the 12 million budgies seen in your back yard this morning.

I hadn't known that budgies were indigenous to Canada...

So you're counting down to Pirate Day, eh? Arrrrrrrgh!

"at least until winter comes."

Being Canada, and being September, it must be almost overdue.

Oh yeah, and I've been looking at flights to Toronto. It's not as cheap as it used to be is it.

Rik, Rik, Rik. We've got to get through fall before we can have winter. Give us a break, will ya?

And no, it's not as cheap as it used to be.

And this: AAAARRRRRRRRR, matey!

Dunno about where Dawn is, but hereabouts Fall lasts for about three days. Like Spring.

I'd think about $600-$700 for a reasonable return ticket from Toronto-Heathrow, although it can get stupidly more expensive if you make a short trip. Back in the 90's you could do it for about $400 as I recall.

I'm surprised the indigsnous birds haven't nailed him yet!

"Avast, ye landlubbers! Ye be going to Davy Jones' locker if ye don't give me yer booty!" That was how I greeted everyone last year and got some right weird looks.

And no, I'm not supposed to be studying...

'qmplgk' - sound made by someone on their way to Davy Jones' locker

The four seasons of Canada:

Snow, slush, mud and construction.

Richard Wintle said...

That's about the size of it, yes, although part of "construction" can also be described as "35 degrees C with a humidex of 50".
