Domestic fauna, again

Captured from inside the screen door at the in-laws' place. It was very sluggish, twitching a bit, but once I'd tipped it out onto the deck it proceeded to look rather dead. In the photo, it's got a leg or two tucked under its body.

Shame really, it was a rather attractive bug, about an inch long. Anybody know what it is?

Did it stink? It looks a lot like what we creatively refer to around here as Stinkbugs. They leave a stinky trail on anything they crawl on, and if you mush them, they smell awful. My toddler is delighted by this. And they like to overwinter in houses.

*Not an entymologist, apparently.

heather - not a stinkbug, too long and thin. But similar shield-like shape to the front of the shell...

wrathful one, I actually know a professional entomologist, just haven't asked her yet.

'ohbjobsk' - something rude. I'm not sure what though.

I don't know what it is, but I think it's kind of cute in a dead bug kind of way.

A cockroach crossed with a cricket which has been mutated by nuckear waste I reckons.
