This is not a flippin' "Tweet", it's a blog post, get over it already.

From yesterday's Metro, which is admittedly not the most reliable news source in the world:

According to a new study from Ipsos Reid, 74% of Canadian internet users are unaware of Twitter. Of those who are aware... just 6% reported having used it.

I feel vindicated.

I don't use Twitter (although I probably would if I had the technology). And I hate the terminology that goes with it. "Tweeting" sounds like what a meth head does...

I signed up for Twitter a few months ago because, well, everyone was doing it.

I haven't used it since the first day. Maybe I don't get it. Or I'm too old and set in my ways.

Or just maybe I get the same thing when my friends update their Facebook status if that's what I want.

Either way, I don't think we're really missing anything.

Heh. I really do understand. I only signed up because Stephen Fry has stopped updating his blog. But I got a little sucked in recently with the unfolding scene in Iran (and via an Iranian expatriate friend). But I think you'll probably live a long happy life without, and I agree that it fills some of the same function that the little update bar does on Facebook, with less flexibility at that.

Plugging away at MAQ by the way, and Bowtie perhaps a little later.

Meh. Twitter is so... March...

I didn't see the point. Maybe I don't follow enough people. I don't know. But I don't bother to sign on anymore.

I don't use it either, I just don't see the point. 140 characters is the limit one can send at one time. It amazes/galls me that you see kids constantly texting the whole time these days. I wonder if all this is depleting the ether, never mind the ozone layer? If it means less cell phones, I'm all for it! I was at a funeral service two days back, and some clown's cell phone went off. He answered it....

Aled - that clown at the funeral deserved a thumping. Did you administer one?

Glad to hear everybody's on my side... ;)

I gave up on Facebook as well - just waaaay too fussy an interface for me to deal with.

Al - welcome... don't think I've "seen" you before. :)
