Another Holiday weekend, continued

It seems the long weekend, which consisted mainly of work, has continued into Tuesday night with a trip to Ikea. Okay, technically, a trip to a point roughly five percent of the way to Ikea, followed by a trip home, followed by removing the kids' car seats so that there would actually be room for furniture, followed by a trip to Ikea. There was also a trip home, but that came later. I was on my own, so oh yes, there was loud music.

All of which was followed by the assembly of a new kitchen table, round this time instead of oblong. And the matching chairs, which I smuggled into the house knowing full well that Mrs. Ricardipus had resigned herself to the fact that they would never, ever fit in the car along with the table. Hah! Never underestimate my l33t p4ck1n6 sk1LLz!!!

We'll see what she says when she comes upstairs...

For all your talk about motors, you don't half drive a girl car.

Guilty. It wasn't my idea, ok? Plus it blows its predecessor, a 1990 Nissan Sentra (1.3L, 3-speed automatic) off the road.

And not all of us are minted scientists with sidelines writing for famous magazines... ;)

Damn your eyes Mr Ricardipus for mentioning IKEA.

I miss IKEA terribly. We have nothing as wonderful as that at the end of the world.

I'm with Dawn--inquiring minds DO want to know. What'd she say?!

Oh, and did you hear that IKEA is building houses now?

Okay, okay... here are some answers.

1) Dawn and Bob - She was pleasantly surprised.
2) John - no, not really.
3) wonderferret - that does it, I am not moving to NZ after all.
4) bk - 'Ikea: Swedish for "where's the hardware?"'
5) Debi - I had no idea.
6) bk - Ikea can also be Swedish for "out of stock".

Oh and Dawn, it was an Ensta kitchen table, round, 102 cm in diameter, pedastel base, with four round-backed chairs of a style I don't remember the name of.

IKEA - Swedish for "You'll need an Allen wrench."
