Facelift, part I

Right. Now that the one-year anniversary is out of the way, it's time to update a few things. Starting with a complaint from a certain person about the size of the sidebar text. Actually, another certain person complained about this a while ago too, so I'm inclined to believe it might be a real problem.

So, if you will, please clicky on the following poll and the Ricardipus Information Services Support Team* will implement your recommendations in a timely** fashion.

Disclaimer: I have no idea if this poll will work.

*i.e., me
**The definition of the term "timely" in this context has not yet been finalized.

To be honest, it looks to me like you have a missing {/font} somewhere, because Dawn's name at the top of the list is looking readable (just), but the rest are positively miniscule.

It looks different in different browsers. In IE, it's fine. In Firefox, it's iddy-biddy.

Hm... I did fiddle around with small and /small tags rather a lot at one point - very probably there's an errant one somewhere and IE is just letting me get away with it.

Anybody want to volunteer to go find it for me? :P

P.S. Poll looks like it's working as advertised. That's something, anyway.

So tell me, am I the verifier that keeps Rik from being just a complainer, or is Rik the verifier that keeps me from being just a complainer? :)

I looked in IE, Safari, and Firefox. IE gets a script error for me that keeps the sidebar from loading at all; Safari looks OK, but Firefox (my browser of choice) is well, as we've said...

From the one web class I've had, I got the impression that Firefox is the most picky about coding. Unfortunately, I don't know enough coding to go trolling around for you...

As suspected, on line 643 (of the original html, not the blogger page), you'll see the line

{small}You've been warned.{small}

obviously, the second small should be a /small. But to be honest, I don't understand why you'd want a small, when the font size is already 1.

Rik - ta. You are presuming I know much, much more about html than I really do...

...will tweaky tonight, possibly. Or after I claim to have closed the poll, whichever.

Ricardipus: I don't claim to know about HTML either. I just read the bluffer's guide.

Now I'm worried, because Rik's comment about the two {small}s, on of which should be {/small}, made sense to me.

I have been assimilated.

I'm worried about all these people talking about their smalls. Decorum people, Decorum.

Further investigation reveals that the whole area surrounding the link to Dawn's page is full of errant {small}s.

What this means, I do not know.

"knejv" - kvetching about html tags

I think it all looks fabulous, dahlink.

Tilly - thank you. You are now my Favourite Person Of The Day(TM).

There's nothing wrong with my smalls, I can assure you.
